  1. It depends on the plane, some are pressurized back there and some aren't. Contact the airline and tell them you have a dog, they will tell you what to do. There are like 5 different version of the 737.
  2. In most planes yes its fine and they will take care of him just give him lots of water before giving him up and know how long the flight is and all that stuff
  3. It is illegal for any animals to travle in a luggage compartment on a plane. It is unsanitary and dangerous for the animal. All pets may must be contained in an airline approved cage and pay an additional fee to carry the pet.
  4. NO it is not... they have a special place for animals on the plane.
  5. Companies may say so, but I recently read statistics that say otherwise. There have been way too many cases of pets being killed due to conditions. Some companies are even stopping this practice to protect themselves. I personally would never do it, but I know people who do, and I can understand if it is something you must do. If you have other options, such as you are just going to visit family for a week or two and can get someone to petsit, I would choose that option just because why take the risk if you love your pet? If you are moving across the country and have to fly, and taking the pooch is your only option, then there is not much you can do except talk to everyone you can about the safety of your pet.
  6. No, unless things have changed lately, and ai don't think they have, it is not airconditioned, and the carriers all end up in one area together because there aren't stalls for carriers and there should be and animals sometimes suffocate to death.
  7. as safe as it would be for u to trave in the luggage compartment of boeing 737, you might want to go to a vet and get the dog some not sleeping pills but something to keep him calm, and it can get preetty lound in there consider that as well good luck
  8. I have traveled many miles to dog shows with my dogs. I have shipped puppies all over the world without incident. My favorite carrier is Continental Airlines, as it has the PetSafe program. A pet sitter is with the dog at all times, and it is never left on a tarmac or unattended. Even when flooding caused a layover for 14 hours in Texas, my puppies arrived in Florida clean, happy, healthy. I called the Cargo Dept to thank them for this. They said that the pups stayed in a room with several sitters, and were taken out to play and change the bedding. they remembered them and told a anecdotes about each one.
  9. I am not sure how big your dog is, but I travel with mine under the seat all of the time.
  10. No, not really. ask your vet, but i know that a lot of people medicate their dogs to keep them calm during the flight, but this can cause problems. the tranquilizers lower the dogs body temp, and with the temperature in the luggage compartment being low as it is, it can sometimes cause your pets heart to stop altogether. if you have any other option, i would go that route instead of flying him over.
  11. I dont know, you should call the airline. They have ways of transporting pets. Special boxes and compartments. But DONT hide that your shipping your dog from them, as he will be put in with regular luggage and that gets kicked aruond and thrown onto runways. Your dog could die. Call an airline.
  12. THEY DONT PUT THEM IN THE LUGGAGE COM. THEY ARE IN CARGO. ITS CLIMATE CONTROLLED AND QUIETER.AND YES IT IS SAFE. I JUST RECIEVED A PUPPY THAT WAY. ITS BETTER THAN NOT TAKING HIM!!UNLESS SOMEONE COULD DRIVE HIM AND EVEN THAT HAS A RISK, YA KNOW?. GOOD LUCK.
